Moqtada Sadr Messages to Al Qaeda in Fallujah Intercepted

August 16, 2004
Radical Shiite leader Moqtada Sadr circulates bitter letter accusing ayatollahs and seminar heads of Najaf and Iranian center of learning of Qom of 'failing the ultimate test,' betrayal and leaving him and his fighters to die in the Imam Ali Mosque.

Hence his appeal to 2,000 Falluja Sunni human shields for help in 'teaching the heretics a lesson they won't forget.' Sadr is now at the end of his tether.

Some of his messages to Baathists and Al Qaeda in Fallujah have been intercepted by United States forces. Coalition forces have almost purged the massive cemetary adjoining the Imam Ali Mosque of Sadrist militia, driving them all into Mosque.

Three Marines killed in this action Sunday, soon Iraqi forces will go in and capture them. ... FR Reprint.
