Huge GOP Turnout in CO This Week - Higher than Polling Models

August 12, 2004
“Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker notes there was a 33% jump among GOPers from the high of ANY competitive GOP primary in CO's history. What’s energizing voters in MO and CO? Is the RNC's 72-hour-program that good in CO? Early voting getting popular? As Coker explains, polling can look skewed if turnout increases as greatly as it did in CO. Keep that in mind when examining polling for Nov. as anecdotal evidence continues to show we’re headed for one of the highest turnouts ever.”

Traditionally, higher turnout is believed to help Democrats. But high turnout in a GOP primary suggests that maybe the pool of Republican voters has expanded. ... FR Reprint.
